Football Buying Network (“FBN”) is currently being developed and tested by Lee Holness in the United Kingdom. For data protection purposes, Lee Holness is responsible for the personal information used during the FBN validation pilot. Information we may use
During the validation pilot we may use business contact information such as a person’s name, role, club, business email address or telephone number. If a club chooses to participate, we may also record purchasing categories, approximate spend, supplier information, renewal timing, upcoming purchasing needs and notes from conversations.
FBN does not ask clubs to provide bank details, card details, passwords, payroll records or other information that is not necessary for the pilot.
Where information comes from
Information may be provided directly by a club or contact. We may also use information made publicly available through club websites, league or football directories, Companies House, public social media pages and other public business sources.
Why we use information
- to contact relevant football clubs about the FBN validation pilot;
- to respond to enquiries and manage pilot conversations;
- to understand purchasing needs and identify potential buying opportunities;
- to compare compatible demand across participating clubs;
- to approach potential suppliers about relevant aggregated demand; and
- to evaluate whether the FBN model produces useful savings or administrative benefits.
Our lawful bases
Depending on the activity, we may rely on legitimate interests where it is reasonable and proportionate to research relevant business contacts, communicate about the pilot and operate FBN. We consider the interests and privacy rights of the people involved before relying on legitimate interests.
Where privacy or electronic-marketing law requires consent, we will only send the relevant communication where the required permission or other lawful route is available. If a club asks us to take steps towards a quote, purchase or other arrangement, processing may also be necessary to take those requested steps. We may process information where necessary to comply with a legal obligation.
Sharing information
FBN does not sell a club’s individual information. Where supplier conversations are needed, only information reasonably necessary to test or quote an opportunity should be shared. Aggregated or anonymised information may be used to understand wider purchasing patterns.
We may use service providers for email, documents, spreadsheets, website hosting and other business operations. Those providers may process information on our behalf subject to their applicable terms and safeguards.
When you submit the website pilot interest form, the form is processed by Web3Forms so the submission can be delivered to FBN by email. Web3Forms states that submissions are transmitted over HTTPS and may be retained for up to three years by default, with shorter retention settings available. You should only submit information needed for the pilot enquiry.
International processing
Some technology providers may process information outside the United Kingdom. Where this applies, we rely on the transfer arrangements and safeguards made available by those providers where required by data protection law.
How long we keep information
Pilot contact and working records are reviewed periodically and kept only for as long as they remain reasonably necessary for the pilot, follow-up, record keeping or legal obligations. Records may then be deleted or anonymised. If someone asks not to receive further direct marketing, we may keep a minimal suppression record so that the request can continue to be respected.
Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, you may have rights to ask for access to your personal information, correction, erasure, restriction of processing, or to object to certain uses.
You can object to the use of your personal information for direct marketing at any time. If you do, we will stop using your information for that purpose. You can contact lee@footballbuyingnetwork.co.uk to exercise a data protection right or ask a question.
Complaints
If you have concerns about how your personal information is used, please contact us first so that we can try to resolve them. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
Website data
This launch website does not currently use advertising trackers, analytics cookies or user accounts. The pilot interest form uses Web3Forms to deliver submissions by email and includes spam-protection controls. Standard technical information may also be processed by the website hosting provider as part of operating, securing and delivering the site.
Changes to this notice
This notice will be reviewed as the pilot develops and updated before any materially different use of personal information begins.
